Iranian renowned actress Ziba Boroufeh has done an exclusive interview with iFilm on her cinematic career and latest activities in Iran Cinema and Television.
Below is a rough translation of selected parts from the interview conducted by iFilm in Persian:
iFilm: When Iranian series 'Reyhaneh' was on air, it was successful in grabbing the audience attention. What was the reason for such attraction?
Boroufeh: This could be due to a range of factors such as direction, casting and cinematography. Iranian director Sirous Moqadam is a good one who has always done good cinematic works. People know him for his good works and he always attracts a group of audiences. The series ‘Reyhaneh’ enjoys professional casting with a good storyline. The story centers around my role and all such elements made this series a memorable one.
iFilm: Over the past years, you seemed to feature in one series or movie each year. How come you are not seen in movies and series just like before?
Boroufeh: I haven’t received good offers of late. That is why I am less active in cinema and Television. I don’t want to appear in films at any cost; I prefer to be seen with a good project.
iFilm: For the first time, you played a role in a series entitled ‘Aspirin’ for Iran Home Screen Network. Can you talk about such experience?
I used to play in telefilms for the network; however, this was a new experience for me and I should say it was a good one. For an actor or actress, it does not make much of a difference whether they appear in cinema, Television or Home Screen Network.
iFilm: Are you participating in any cinematic work for the time being?
Boroufeh: I have not accepted any offer after ‘Aspirin’ yet. I read the script for a few movies and series, but nothing is certain for now.
